The family at Mount Saint Helen

Jereme and his family headed up to the Mt. St. Helen’s volcanic site one year. They found their campground and proceeded to set up camp. Jereme was ahead of everybody else and found the perfect spot to set up his own little tent. The spot was like a little crater, a place to snuggle into like a nest.

That night some city slicker came, hauling in his gear and yelling out his car window, “I’m here so get ready for rain?” Little did Jereme know how prophetic that statement was.

Now it was about 5 a. m. when Jereme’s dad, snoozing prodigiously, heard a tremendous roar: “Dad!” It was not a request, but an accusation. Jereme woke to find himself sleeping in a pool of water and it had to be his dad’s fault. His dad couldn’t figure out how it could be his fault, but the thing that really got to him, was crawling out of his own tent at 5 a.m. Credit should be given Jereme’s dad, though, for he had a sense of humor; and when he saw Jereme’s head sticking out of his tent and yelling “I’m flooded out!”, deep down inside the boy’s dad chuckled. The boy sure enough was a chip off the old block.

“Dad” I’m flooded out!
